About

Approach & Philosophy

Welcome.

I see therapy as a partnership between us, grounded in warmth, curiosity, humor, and a genuine respect for your unique story.

My approach as a therapist is rooted in psychodynamic and depth-oriented perspectives, which means providing a safe, non-judgmental space where you can bring to light the aspects of yourself and your experiences that have been hidden away. The goal is to help you understand why you do what you do and to connect with a deeper sense of who you really are, your authentic self.

We’re not just skimming the surface, but diving into the unconscious patterns that shape how you show up in relationships and in life. This approach invites us to explore what lies beneath: your dreams, your emotions, and the repeating relational dynamics that keep you feeling stuck.

Healing happens when we gently create awareness of what’s been ignored, denied, repressed or rejected, allowing it to come forward so you can understand it, explore it, and integrate it.

I’m not here to tell you what to do or how to live your life. Instead, the relationship we foster, built on acceptance and compassion, encourages you to strengthen your own self-trust and intuition.

Ian Vogt, MA, LMFT
